At the heart of Indre By, light, space and material quietly commune in the cocoon-like Polène city store. The architecture is inspired by arum flowers: vaults and arches rise like petals, while beige and brown hues meet leather details down to the shelves themselves, adorned with an original embroidery technique developed by the Polène teams.
The brand joined forces with local artisans to create a boutique like no other: architect and sculptor Nicholas Shurey designed two walnut tables with generous, organic shapes, while Natural Material Studio contributed six backlit podiums that allow the bags in the window to bask under a gentle halo.
Entirely surrounded by leather, the experiential ‘Artisanship in action’ space invites visitors to fashion little origami boat charms in a poetic nod to the Nyhavn canal. Secured by a cord woven in-store, each piece is personalized with initials using a hot stamping technique.
